Fizban's Wands

“Every wand chooses its wizard… eventually.”

The Wand Collection

Each wand is unique. Some were crafted; some were merely… found. Choose carefully.

🪄

The Ashen Whisper

Carved from the heartwood of a tree struck by lightning during the Cataclysm, this wand carries the memory of that ancient storm. Those who wield it claim to hear distant thunder even on cloudless days, and spells cast through it arrive with a faint scent of ozone and old ash.

Fizban's Fumble-Stick

A wand of notoriously unpredictable temperament, this gnarled implement once belonged to the great (if eccentric) Fizban himself. Wizards report that it performs admirably most of the time — except on Tuesdays, when it insists on producing confetti instead of fire. Highly sought after, for reasons scholars debate endlessly.

The Moonsilver Rod

Fashioned under the light of three simultaneous full moons by the elven wandmaker Silvara, this slender instrument hums faintly in darkness. Its magic is drawn to starlight and works best under open sky. Illusion and divination spells channelled through it are said to have a peculiar clarity, as though truth itself is amplified.

Emberscale

A wand forged in the caldera of Mount Nevermind and cooled in the blood of a willing red dragon (the dragon insisted, apparently). The grip is warm to the touch regardless of ambient temperature, and fire spells cast through Emberscale burn twice as bright and half as long. A favourite of gnome artificers and impatient evokers alike.

The Verdant Compass

This wand, bound with living vine that refuses to wither, was grown — not carved — by the druids of Darken Wood over the course of a century. It always points toward the nearest body of fresh water and whispers the names of nearby plants when held still. Nature and healing spells woven through it seem kinder, more patient than those from other instruments.

The Obsidian Needle

Long and impossibly slender, this wand was shaped from a single shard of volcanic glass retrieved from beneath the Blood Sea. It amplifies precision over power — conjurers who prefer surgical enchantments prize it above all others. The wand makes no sound when it works, which some users find elegant and others find deeply unsettling.

Tasselhoff's Borrowed Twig

This unassuming little stick looks like something a kender found on the road and decided to keep — because that is precisely what it is. Somehow, inexplicably, it channels magic with startling reliability. Previous owners have included three archmages, two dragons, and one very surprised innkeeper. It tends to wander off and return of its own accord.

The Dragonlance Splinter

Allegedly a fragment of wood recovered from the shaft of a true Dragonlance after the War of the Lance, this relic is more legend than wand. Whether the claim is genuine matters less than the wand's behaviour: in the hands of a knight sworn to a just cause, no ward holds against it. In the hands of anyone else, it is merely a very expensive stick.
